We had a really great dinner at Isabel Desquería in El Calafate. It’s a very local spot, definitely recommended by the locals themselves, and it has a really friendly vibe. We decided to go for the “disco” dish that they recommended for two people, but honestly, it’s a huge portion and could easily serve three. The service was great—staff were super friendly, and the food came out really fast. One little highlight was that they served fresh, warm bread with amazing butter that we absolutely loved. All in all, definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in town and looking for a hearty local meal!

These authentic and giant dishes were amazing! My husband and I shared the classic chicken disc and it was so big! The free bread was delicious!! The live music was nice but came on a bit late. The lighting was a bit too bright . Otherwise it would have been a five star experience. Loved the wine room where you choose your own wine.

This place offers huge sharing platters. Please listen to your server and DO NOT order more platter than they suggest. The food is delicious but it is easy to over order as you do not realise how massive each dish will be!!

We had a fantastic dinner at Isabel Desquería in El Calafate. It’s a very local spot—clearly a place recommended by locals—and it has a welcoming, friendly vibe from the moment you walk in. We ordered the “disco” dish recommended for two people, but honestly, the portion was huge and could easily serve three. The food came out quickly, and the service was excellent—everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. A small but memorable highlight was the fresh, warm bread with amazing butter, which we absolutely loved. For the main course, we had the fish cooked in the disco pan—it was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty. For dessert, we had the flan with dulce de leche, which was delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. Excellent food, excellent service, and a great local experience. Highly recommended!

I spent 3 nights at El Calafate and had all 3 dinners here. We tried the chicken plough, fish plough, and steak. All 3 were delicious and the restaurant itself was beautiful. Prices are as of September 2025

We found Restaurante Isabel Cocina al Disco on maps and decided to give it a try. The cozy vibe was inviting, and they welcomed us with complimentary bread and butter - soft, warm, and full of flavor. Since the restaurant specializes in dishes to share, we started with a pumpkin soup. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. For the main, we ordered the spicy chicken with potatoes to share, and it was spot on.. the chicken was tender, the potatoes perfectly cooked, and the flavors balanced. To set the mood, we paired it with Patagonia beer, which was refreshing and just right for the evening. And to finish, we couldn’t resist the Calafate ice cream-simply amazing, a sweet local touch that made the experience memorable. Overall, Isabel Cocina al Disco is a fantastic spot in El Calafate. Great food, great atmosphere, and definitely worth recommending.
